Notable Initiatives or Achievements:
During my time at Prudent so far, I have helped conduct hydrographic surveys on over 150 NYSDOT bridges, ranging from small one-lane bridges in the Adirondacks to a 2-mile long causeway in Long Island. As a member of the field team, I operate hydrographic and land survey equipment, perform maintenance, integrate new equipment, and maintain an organized record of field operations.
Passion for the Field:
Hydrography is unique as it allows a glimpse into environments not typically or easily viewed by humans. Our work helps support underwater inspections, dredging operations, and the general understanding of our world beneath the water surface. I’m excited about having the opportunity to inspect underwater infrastructure and ensure that it remains stable and secure for the next generation.
In Your Own Words:
As a hydrographic field technician, I have the unique opportunity to travel around NY State and work in a variety of environments and conditions. Each day is different and a challenge in its own way, which has contributed to my professional growth and adaptability. I work with a great team of people who are passionate about our work, making the job more interesting and fun. It is very rewarding knowing that our hydrographic services are helping understand, maintain, and improve infrastructure and environments in NY State.
Fun Facts:
In my spare time, I enjoy knitting, crocheting, and visiting craft breweries around the state.
