The Syracuse, NY area is undergoing a major transformation of its primary interstate highways. This pivotal infrastructure project aims to enhance connectivity and improve the urban environment. Key elements of the project include upgrading a portion of Interstate 481 to be redesignated as I-81, demolition of the I-81 viaduct between Renwick Avenue and the I-81/I-690 interchange, constructing a new Business Loop 81 along Almond Street, and implementing extensive improvements in sewer and stormwater management systems.
